About Carina V. Lieu
After co-leading coalitions to restore relationships between Black and A/PI students in high school, Carina Lieu turned into a leader in government, organizing, and education for transformation. As the Director of Youth Leadership Development at the City of Oakland, she helped launch Oakland's Reimagining Public Safety Task Force's Youth Advisory Board, and expanded the Youth Commission to reach more students equitably. Besides working for U.S. Congress and as a Planning consultant, Carina taught hands-on research skills in the non-profit setting as well as in Biology and Public Health classrooms in San Francisco and Oakland. She is a lifelong learner, who holds a Certificate in Yoga Instruction, Masters of Urban Planning, Certificate in Real Estate Development, and a B.A. in Ethnic Studies.
