Dimond Branch Summer Party

Celebrate the near end of summer with a community potluck party at the Dimond Branch Library. The event features live jazz from Michael Jones and Friends, along with button making, games, bubbles, and crafts. Popsicles will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring handheld treats to share.
Friday Nights at OMCA with Agua Pura
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Place: Oakland Museum of California, 1000 Oak St.
This week’s Friday Nights event features a high-energy set from Agua Pura, a Bay Area-based salsa band composed of femme and queer musicians. The evening also includes a Bachata dance lesson and, in honor of Black August, a special gallery talk with community influencers Cheo Tyehimba Taylor and Carolyn Johnson. While gallery access requires a ticket, all outdoor music and events are free.
Live Music: Vinyl DJ Oshi at Original Pattern

Original Pattern Brewing Company hosts its free weekly live music series. This Friday features a set from vinyl DJ Oshi, providing a relaxed soundtrack for the evening at the Jack London area brewery.

Saturday Morning Community Cleanups

Place: Various locations across Oakland
Join one of the many community-led cleanups happening Saturday morning. Tools and supplies are typically provided, and it’s a great way to connect with neighbors while beautifying the city.
- High Street Coalition Cleanup: 8:30 a.m. at Walgreens (High St. & Redding).
- District 5 Beautification: 8:30 a.m. at Guadalajara Restaurant (1001 Fruitvale Ave).
- Dimond District Cleanup: 9:00 a.m. at 2055 MacArthur Blvd.
- Lake Merritt Cleanup: 10:00 a.m. at the Lake Merritt Sail Boat House (568 Bellevue Ave).

East Bay Front Runners & Walkers
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Place: Camron-Stanford House, 1418 Lakeside Dr.
On the second Saturday of each month, community members can join a free 3.1-mile walk or run around Lake Merritt. The recurring event starts at the Camron-Stanford House and offers clear views of the lake and city skyline.
Grand Lake Farmers Market

Place: Splash Pad Park, Grand Ave & Lake Park Ave
One of the East Bay’s largest farmers markets returns to Splash Pad Park this Saturday. As a weekly hub for local commerce and fresh produce, the market features over 40 local farmers and 30 specialty food purveyors.
Laurel StreetFair World Music Festival

Place: MacArthur Blvd. between 35th Ave. and Maybelle Ave.
The Laurel District comes alive with the 24th annual Laurel StreetFair, a massive free festival rich with music from around the globe. Spanning more than eight city blocks, the event features performances from artists like Terrie Odabi and Los Rakas, plus a craft beer garden, local vendors and a kids’ carnival.
Saturdays in the Zone: BCZ Community Skate!

The Black Cultural Zone invites the community to its weekly skate party at the Umoja Outdoor Skating Rink in Deep East Oakland. This recurring, family-friendly event offers an afternoon of music, movement and community vibes for all skill levels.
Waterfront Flicks: Despicable Me 4
