College students are always on the go. Between classes and studying, many rarely have time to even sit down for a meal. Fortunately, Oakland taco trucks provide good food for those on the go.
Randi Cross asked Laney College students, “What is your favorite taco truck in Oakland?”

Jerry’s favorite taco truck is the one right next to Burger King on 50th (Tacos Tos Dos Amigo). “The prices went by like a dollar recently, but it’s worth the money.” You get big solid items and it’s never longer than a 10 minute wait. Jerry gets three super burritos with a Mexican Coke.

“My favorite truck is Tacos Tacos El Rey on Mandela Parkway.” Micah’s favorite item is the beef tongue taco. “I don’t know how to say it in Spanish but it has a really good flavor!”

“I love Tacos El Gordo; it’s not a far walk from Laney.” Marlonie said she always makes it a point to speak Spanish when she orders, and they know her there now because of it: three shrimp tacos, no cilantro, extra sour cream and a large horchata. “This is my favorite thing about living in Oakland, that Mexican food soul!”
