New COVID-19 test site opens in Chinatown

A new COVID test site opens in Oakland at Madison Park.

A new COVID-19 test site officially opens in Chinatown on Tuesday, August 18. The tests are free is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays by appointment. The location is at Madison Square Park in what is considered residential Chinatown.

The new test site is a partnership between Asian Health Services, Alameda County Public Health Department, and COLOR. Appointments can be made online.

People who are tested will receive results within 1-3 days. There is also a COVID-19 helpline at 510-735-3222 (Monday-Friday from 9 am-5 pm) for people who need assistance in other languages including Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, Tagalog, and other Asian languages.

Madison Park is located at 810 Jackson Street. The site is open from 12 pm-7 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays and Fridays from 8 am-4 pm.
